Re: Banner designs
Sophie,
Many thanks. I didn't really think of it as Art Deco, but now you mention it... It is my favourite design period!

Re: Banner designs
I'd like to have a go at making a banner, can anyone tell me what size, both in Pixels and file size they are meant to be?
Thanks

Re: Banner designs
Hey Jan,
if I'm not wrong, it should be 750 * 150 pixels at 300 dpi resolution

Re: Banner designs
Thanks Mark
I have an old book called 'Photoshop 4 WOW! Book' by Linnea Dayton and Jack Davis, in which there is a chapter - Creating Chrome. The technique involves sharp & blurred channels made from the artwork, displacement maps, lighting effects and plastic wrap.

While PS has advanced tremendously since version 4, the book demonstrates clearly that it was still an awesome piece of software even at that time. The book was published seven years before I started with Elements, which came free with my first Canon 10D and I only wish I'd found this wonderful interest much sooner in life.

I thought the banners were all supposed to use the original type face as provided by Steve.

Re: Banner designs
The way that I read that Paul was, that you had to use the Font Steve specified but you were then able to manipulate it.

But I could be wrong!

As long as we get good banners - and that's what we are getting - I'm not too concerned about the logo!

Scorching hot desert? Burnout dried tree?

Does it mean different things to different folks?

For what it's worth I think it's great one to put up on the wall.

Cheers Deb

Re: Banner designs
Love your banner Nick! I also saw Anna's great offering just before I went on holiday.

Well done everyone!

This is my second port of call after checking my work mail. Now to check out the challenge though I don't know if I'll have time this week.
