That's beautiful tooquilos! I love this banner_olympic.gif.
I wonder if our animation wizzard, surreal spoofer (james) comes with a nice one too. Yours is very original I'd say

Re: Banner designs
There was a shop in the UK that had a window display of mannequins. Each one had a coloured hula-hoop around them, resembling the olympic rings.

The shop was forced to remove them. The IOC get very protective about their logo.

I'd be surprised if Steve dares to use anything that contains the logo.

Lovely work Anna

Paul - with all the talk of potential strikes, inadequate security arrangements, airports unable to cope with the influx of competitors and visitors, maybe they'll have bigger fish to fry.

Re: Banner designs
Great idea Anna and excellent animation.

Pesky IOC officials and agree with Nick. Seems ironic it comes to this thinking they own it when its by the people and for the people. Ok they can police false representation e.g. tickets, but they are so expensive and difficult to get unless you are nudge-nudge with them, what's the point even of that, apart from self-interest. I would have liked to see the sailing, but apparently they will screen it so lay people can not see from the shore and also outdoor cycling, but don't fancy cost, hassle of public transport then and why have at Box Hill with all the restrictions where can view from. Rant not over but will stop. I'll just watch live or recorded TV and will enjoy that. And hope Steve can post Anna's excellent banner, for the people by the people.

Re: Banner designs
Thank you Paul for your tip off. Carrying the burden on your shoulders of policing the unauthorised usage of the IOC logo must be a heavy load for you.

It would be a refreshing sight if you were to post something productive on here from time to time. Even perhaps a FC contribution? Rather than lurking in the shadows, waiting for an opportunity to pounce.

I find it extraordinary that the IOC should be focusing on hula hoops and banners on a Photoshop forum when they have so many other pressing issues to deal with..the security debacle for starters. If Steve or the IOC or the CIA, for that matter, decide to remove it, so be it - I'll take the bullet.

Lets all get into the spirit of the Olympics and enjoy this wonderful international event that unites nations and brings people together.

Many thanks Sjef, Nick and Trevor

Re: Banner designs
I didn't realise participation in the FC was a pre-requisite of being on these forums.

I just don't have the whacky imagination that some people here do, and haven't seen a FC that has grabbed my attention for some time.

Unfortunately my Photoshop work is boring and mundane automation of tedious tasks. I don't have time for creativity.

Having been on the sharp end of copyright infringement myself I thought I was just being helpful pointing out how strict the IOC are on the unauthorised use of their logo.

I don't think Sebastian Coe personally checks out these reports of improper logo use.

Re: Banner designs
Paul I'm sorry to hear that your life has become boring and mundane. We'd love to hear your suggestions on a suitable FC that falls within your requirements. If you can spare the time of course.

Beautiful work Anna, it's lucky there were 5 O's in HTCIP

We had 5 ring doughnuts of various colour in the office today. We devoured them quickly to avoid a potential copyright landmine! and very yummy they were too!

That's exactly why you need to take part, Paul! To keep your sanity!

I'd be surprised if Steve dares to use anything that contains the logo.

Oh, I like a challenge.

Re: Banner designs
Another one Steve:
I photographed your book and applied the 3 images to make a 3D object which was then animated on my background. Unfortunately I had to knock out approx 20 frames and reduce to 32 colors to get it down to under 100kb so it is not as smooth as the original. I have a strange thing happen whenever I render a video in that PS will not open after I close out of it after rendering. ( only happens with video and animations once I initate the export dialogue) I have to restart my computer to get PS to open. Any ideas ?
Frank

Re: Banner designs
Just celebrating the move to CS6, using migration at the start I thought it would move all my brushes over. But it didn't and as I don't keep them in a separate folder (I know), then spent ages trying to work out how to move them over. Finally gave up in disgust, turned CS6 on and there they were! Don't know how it happened, but celebrated by splodging them around.

Re: Banner designs
I expect I have asked this question several times, but what is the maximum file size I could get away with for a banner? 100kb is a little teenytiny for what I have in mind
