Re: Banner designs
Thanks James, I have produced a few banners before but it was quite a while ago. _________________ "We're going to need a bigger boat!" Jaws |

Re: Banner designs
lovely banner Vern!! I feel your frustration. This is why a lot of my banners lately are static images rather than gifs _________________ Wicked Witch of the West:I'll get you, my pretty! And your little dog, too! |

Re: Banner designs
The Moscow Circus is in town and we went by earlier this morning to watch them put up the tent. Hence the inspiration for this banner! _________________ Wicked Witch of the West:I'll get you, my pretty! And your little dog, too! |

Re: Banner designs
Hi Frank, I've been flicking back through older banners as I want to create some more but don't want to repeat ideas if possible. I must say I am very impressed with the 3D and animated banners you have produced. I saw your comment about 3D objects scattering when merged and have a tip which I got from a series of Photoshop 3D tutorials by Daniel Presedo who works for Adobe and calls himself Dramenon on Youtube. Anyway, Daniel recommends that you put each element into the same view before merging and that way they do not shoot around. I have followed this advice and generally put all of my objects in top view before merging and fingers crossed it seems to keep the objects behaving. Then just adjust the view to suit the whole scene. Incidentally, I am sure you know this already but if you are merging 3D layers together the lights, camera views etc. of the bottom 3D layer takes precedence. Thanks Vern, Yes I have watched Daniel's tuts (very Good) . Unfortunately I haven't had much time of late to play in 3D but hope to get back before I forget everything. I don't recall your later remark but will give it a try next time I construct a 3D scene. |

Re: Banner designs
Anna - love the typography! Is this a font? If not, where did you find the decorative elements? |

Re: Banner designs
Thank you Steve. the font I used in this is RINGBEARER (Lord of the Rings font) The elements are just various vectors which I found on the net and chose the ones I felt where fitting to the font. Then applied a layers style over the lot to give it an old gold look. _________________ Wicked Witch of the West:I'll get you, my pretty! And your little dog, too! |

Re: Banner designs
Right after I posted this banner I saw your new book will be released shortly (mine is on order from Amazon Canada). Your cover seemed a similar theme to my banner so a slight modification to the banner -- use whichever one you think appropriate. Frank |

Re: Banner designs
Ahmed, I like the idea of this one - but I'm not sure it's legible enough to tell visitors the name of the site! |

Re: Banner designs
Anna, again, with another beautiful banner! I think the banner flowing through the last letter 'P' just needs slight adjusting? I'm sure if you make it thinner as it comes through the 'O' is should fit. - Sorry I haven't used photoshop much this week so I couldn't help but have a quick go, you can do a better job ! |

Re: Banner designs
Great idea Sjef and beautifully executed. I do worry about the "IN PHOTO" section as there is no lateral restraint!!!!!! _________________ "Check out the big brain on Brett!" Pulp Fiction |
