Hello! J'avais commencé cet abécédaire, et j'ai décidé d'en faire une banière. Malheureusement, mes lettres d'origine étaient bien trop grandes, donc, tous les détails sont perdus. How can I reproduce that effect? That one with different gradiation of circles? Is it explained in the book? Nice job wayne! I really like it! Alessandro |

Thanks Carlo, It is quite straightforward really. 1.Create a new document and fill with the background colour of your choice. 2.Create a new layer and fill it with black, select the gradient tool (linear gradient) make sure your foreground colour is white and using the foreground to transparent gradient click and drag from the top of the document to roughly around the centre (whilst holding shift to constrain to a vertical) and release. This should give you a white to black gradient. 3.Go to the menu-filters-Pixelate-Colourhalftone and select it. 4.This will bring up the colourhalftone properties box, set all of the channels to 0 and the max radius is really a judgement call (basically the higher the number the bigger the halftone dots and vice versa) when you have a size you are happy with click ok. 5.You will now have a gradient halftone pattern. There is a problem however the dots are black and we need them to be white (more on this at the end) press ctrl-I to invert the values of the layer (turning the black dots white) we can now goto the channels panel and ctrl-click on the RGB channel at the top to load the luminosity of the layer (all the white pixels) 6.Create a new layer with that selection still active and temporarily fill it with white so you can place the effect in your document accurately. hit ctrl-J to duplicate the halftone layer and flip it vertically so you have halftone at the top and the same at the bottom. 7.Sample your background colour, lock the transparency of your halftone layers and fill the halftone with the background colour. The halftone should disappear from your image because it is the same colour as your background. 8.Final step but the one that makes the effect work is to change the blending mode of one halftone layer to multiply and the other halftone layer to screen thus giving you a nice gradient effect. Et' Voila. Hope this helps, i'm sure there are quicker ways to do this but i find this pretty effective. Have fun Wayne _________________ Justice for the '96 YNWA |
